Tamasine has been an absolute god-send for my now 16wk old puppy and I. Sadly we are in lockdown so face to face sessions are off the table but thanks to video tech and WhatsApp conversations we have managed to create a fantastic and effective training schedule.
When I got my lurcher pup Lilly I didn’t really appreciate how much training was required from day one. There are many things that blog posts and FB groups do not tell you as first time owner. Yes, there are plenty of enrichment ideas online but none of this explains that puppies have to learn ‘calm’ and patience as the ABC of their education. This lack of knowledge was a bit of a challenge for us which surfaced in many unsettled evenings when Lilly just didn’t understand that there was a time for play and that I wasn’t her toy on standby.
Tamasine’s training is highly dog-centric and ethical. She helped us lay the foundations that we had missing and gives us weekly exercises to practice in between sessions. The best thing is that Lilly really enjoys it – it’s fun but clear training for the dog! And it is incredible to see just how tired her little mind gets after our sessions. Lilly had become a much more patient and less frustrated little pup. She has really started to think about solutions and I am seeing a lot less of the ‘I want it and I want it now’ pup that I had a few weeks ago.
I can highly recommend Tamasine – you will not find another dog trainer like her. In fact, Tamasine is probably the best top notch expert I could’ve found for us.
